Dynamic new Managing Director sets out to make rpa:architecture 'architect of choice' - 01/03/2008
After 10 highly successful years as a Director of rpa:architecture, Martin Playford has been promoted to the role of Managing Director to spearhead the continued growth of the business and make rpa:architecture 'architect of choice'.
Already a leading architectural practice in the challenging residential market, Martin is leading rpa:architecture with a forward thinking strategy of diversifying the business into other sectors such as industrial and commercial property architecture.
"My aim is to ensure that rpa:architecture remains the 'architect of choice' within the sectors we work in. We underpin long term relationships with our clients by consistently producing good work and always coming up with solutions. The good rapport that builds from our clients' confidence in us means that they come back to us with repeat business.
At the same time I want innovation to be at the core of everything we do and challenge my team, and the business, to continually expand our aspirations for achieving outstanding work across different sectors. The current economic climate is not helpful to the industry and architects need to be working smarter."
One of his first appointments has been Lee Allcock as a fellow Director. Lee's previous position was as a Senior Architect, at leading practice OSP Architecture. At rpa:architecture his main responsibilities will be to act as a lead consultant negotiating planning on behalf of clients with local planning authorities and coordinating applications through to determination.
As rpa:architecture enters an exciting new phase of growth, Lee's appointment underlines the firm's commitment to clients in successfully navigating the complex planning system, applying meticulous attention to full architectural planning whilst utilising their close working relationships with local authorities. Lee's ability to secure planning permission on a wide variety of sites means rpa:architecture's track record in successfully securing planning for clients will continue to be second to none.
