Just before the start of the 2011 F1 Grand Prix Season some rpa:architecture and rpa:vision staff members decided to take part in their own motor race and took part in an endurance karting event at F1 Karting Heathrow.

rpa:group were represented by 3 teams appropriately named rpa:Hamiltons, rpa:Buttons and rpa:Vettels. The evening consisted of a race safety briefing, 25 minutes of practice and a two and a quarter hour endurance race where all team drivers change at pit stops. Bearing in mind that only a few have previously had limited experience of karting and that many had none at all, the rpa:group teams did extremely well up a against some more experienced opposition with the Vettels finishing in third, the Hamiltons sixth and the Buttons ninth with all teams being excitedly cheered on by their supporters club! 

The evening went extremely well and it is hoped that we can take part in another event in a few months time.
