As part of our ongoing support of The Shooting Stars Children's Hospice, some of the guys here at rpa:group have set themselves a challenge to raise money for this great cause - over to them for the details...

"We recently had a visit from Theo Coyne from The Shooting Star Children's Hospice. Theo showed all of us at rpa:group a presentation on the work that they do day in, day out and the difficulties and joy they share in. As friends we were touched by his story and the lives of the people who become involved with the charity.

We decided to organise an interesting event that would be a challenge to ourselves and a great sense of achievement to raise a good amount of money to help towards the work that they do - Shooting Stars is not government funded and relies on the donations of others, needing a staggering £3.5million per annum to maintain the care services they offer to families. We were ambitious and gave ourselves a target of £500 to complete within 6 weeks, 3 weeks into the fundraising and hard training we are over 50% of the way there to reaching our goals.

The Event - 120K CHALLENGE IN 3 HOURS

The event will be based in Windsor where we will set off at 12pm on Friday 1st April, it consists of;

- 10k Run

- 19k Cycle

- 1K Swim

Combined this totals 30K Each, Totalling 120K where we have given ourselves a target of 3 hours to complete it in.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As time has got closer we've used every opportunity to raise extra amounts of money towards the total. This Shrove Tuesday 8th we launched a pancake making service for the employee's of rap:group and raised a staggering £100 at the end of the day. We also have many more ideas within the next 3 weeks before the event to capture more sponsors; possibly including a Company BBQ and Drinks and a 50:50 Raffle.
